Opera Scenes - In Concert

Frost Opera Theater students present Classical and Bel Canto repertoire, revealing operatic influences on Stravinsky's great neoclassical opera, The Rake’s Progress, slated for Frost Opera Theater performance in March 2017.

Dido and Aeneas - In Concert

Henry Purcell's extraordinary opera dating from the mid-1680s is a fifty-minute miracle steeped in romance, sorcery, and high tragedy, recognized as the first opera superlatively set in English.

FREE and open to the public, featuring undergraduate and graduate curriculum performances.

Young Artist Series

Frost Opera Theater returns for its annual performance at the beautiful Bonnet House Estate in Fort Lauderdale. The Bonnet House Museum and Gardens Young Artist Series present some of the finest young talents in South Florida each season.

The Rake’s Progress, by Igor Stravinsky

Frost Opera Theater and Frost Symphony Orchestra present a staged production of Stravinsky’s only full-length opera in English, featuring his most lyrical score. The Rake’s Progress, inspired by the operas of Mozart, is a pastiche of a late 18th - century opera with a brilliant verse libretto by poet W.H. Auden.
Dates: Thursday, March 2, 7:30 PM & Saturday, March 4, 7:30 p.m.

Beyond by Mary Ellen Childs and Claire Porter

New opera workshop supported by Opera America Grants for Female Composers and the John Duffy Institute for New Opera.
