Frost opera and choral ensembles combine and collaborate to stage grand scenes from renowned operas and musical theater works by Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Johann Strauss, Franz Lehar, Jacques Offenbach, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and Jake Heggie

Location: Bonnet House Museum and Gardens, Fort Lauderdale "The most intensely romantic score of any musical since WEST SIDE STORY!" - The New York Times. The Broadway production of this award-winning musical ran at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater in 2005 - 2006, garnering six Tony Awards, including Best Original Score. Set in the 1950s, while touring the Tuscan countryside, American tourists Margaret and her daughter Clara encounter cultural differences, romance, secrets, hopes, and regrets that change their lives. Black Lives - Music from the Operas of Anthony Davis
Concert curator and pianist Alan Johnson is joined by former FSOM faculty member Kevin Short, alumnus Carl Dupont, and composer Anthony Davis to perform music from Davis's acclaimed operas X, The Life and Times of Malcolm X, Amistad, and two new operas on the horizon: FIVE, and The Darkest Light in the Heart. Critical moments in the history of African Americans are placed in historical and cultural contexts exploring the emotional voyage from our present to the past. The audience will experience not only the retelling of history but a deeper understanding of the emotional stakes in navigating the political and social forces that shape America.
