Frost Opera Theater concludes its season with The Judgment of Paris, a vibrant new opera by Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer that received its world premiere at Festival Napa Valley in the summer of 2026. Inspired by both the legendary Greek myth and the landmark 1976 "Judgment of Paris" wine tasting when Napa Valley wines stunned the world by triumphing over France's finest in a blind competition, this witty and imaginative work celebrates the enduring power of beauty, rivalry, innovation, and bold choices. Presenting today's most significant new operas by one of America's leading composer/librettist teams alongside timeless masterpieces reflects Frost Opera Theater's commitment to preparing the next generation of artists while introducing audiences to the works shaping opera's future.
